Therapeutic Skin Coach™; Hayley Wood

Therapeutic Skin Coach ™ founder, Hayley Wood, started her love affair with skin care and all things beautiful at a very young age. Having struggled with acne and other maladies since age 10, Hayley quickly educated herself on how to heal inflammatory conditions from the inside out.

After receiving her license in Esthiology in 2006 at the Institute of Beauty and Wellness in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Hayley has delved into the skin care industry with a love for holistic health care, a need for constant education/growth, and most importantly, an open heart. She has spent years crafting her skills so that you will walk away from her treatments luxuriously relaxed, enthused about your own beauty rituals, and gorgeously glowing-the way you deserve to be.

Inspiration

A turning point for Hayley’s career was at age 27, when one day, Hayley started to feel feverish and decided to go to the doctor. To her shock, she had shingles. This is a virus that was slowly shutting down her nervous system. This made giving several facials a day painful and utterly impossible. She couldn't feel her hands, and her ability to heal and connect with clients was rapidly compromised. After seeking the help of an acupuncturist, and taking 5 daily prescriptions for nearly a month, Hayley learned that she had an over-stressed liver partly due to years of conventional skincare:

"Our skin absorbs everything we put on it within seconds.  The constant absorption of chemicals from skin care products was affecting my health so quickly and I thought I was going to have to quit esthetics. This broke my heart."

This roadblock quickly became the catalyst for the change Hayley needed. After taking a hard look at the industry she loved, Hayley turned a minor setback into a driving force to refocus her role as a Therapeutic Skin Coach.

Having been trained by some of the best plastic surgeons in the world, along with her ever growing love for holistic care, Hayley has the ability to find the root of any skin care issue. Not only will you feel more knowledgeable about your overall health and well-being, you will get continued support and guidance post treatment. Combating inflammatory based conditions such as acne, rosacea, and hyper-pigmentation are her strengths:

"My in-depth consultation and health history analysis does set me apart but I am also committed to on-going conversations with all of my clients. I make sure to know what they are using and how their skin is recovering at every stage. From hormonal imbalances to major dietary overhaul, I continuously support and guide you towards finding your best skin health. I do this by giving you the power to be the expert on your own skin. Education is a big part of our process."

What is a therapeutic skin coach

"I developed the term ‘therapeutic skin coach’ as my title because esthetician or facialist seemed to really restrict me from what I truly do. I coach and guide people beyond their skin care treatments to truly transform their skin. Half the battle is knowing someone is there for you and has the willingness to support the ups and the downs."

The most important thing to Hayley's practice is she creates an environment that is not wasteful or harmful to the Earth/You by using 100% non-toxic products. As an environmentalist, she strives to do everything possible to keep the Earth as beautiful as she found it when she was a young girl.

In Hayley's off hours, she very much enjoys the simple things in life. She and her husband James, love to cook, hike, do yoga, read and drink wine. They are currently residing in Los Angeles but love to travel and fall in love with all parts of the world. Hayley is a licensed esthetician in the state of California. She has previously been licensed in Wisconsin and Texas.

Therapeutic Skin Coach; Jessi

Jessi is a health coach turned esthetician, with a passion for skin care, nutrition, and whole body health. With a background in health education, and specializing in holistic nutrition since 2010, her own experiences with acne and rosacea led her to explore a wider concept of skin care including food, beauty products, and self-care.  She believes in approaching a healthy lifestyle and beautiful, glowing skin with an "inside-out" perspective: pairing diet and emotional well-being with stellar, non-toxic skin care.

Jessi has been training with Hayley to become a therapeutic skin coach since June of 2017. Her sweet dog, Maggie, is now the official spa mascot during your visits with her on Thursdays. She currently holds a California state esthetician license and is a certified functional medicine coaching candidate.
